Hi Sarah,

I can understand why you are so frustrated, but I'd like to explain to you a few things before you drop playing the piano.

First of all, piano is not an easy instrument to learn. It takes many years of constant practice to learn how to play it. One of the mistakes that students make is taking a piece/song that is just too advanced for them.
I like to give my students a challenging piece/song to learn but I'm always very careful not to give them anything too difficult because they might get frustrated.
I appreciate that you would love to be able to play that particular song but I recommend your putting it aside just for now and learn how to play simpler songs, and then go back toe song you love..
One more thing, six years are indeed not a short time but your piano skills are a result of how you have been learning during this time. How much time have you dedicated to practicing? How was your teacher? I have a student who studied for two and a half years and he is at the same level of another student who has studied for 5 years. In other words I wouldn't look backwards, just forward.

I recommend you to use our website to learn and improve your piano skills. I assure you that after playing various piano tutorials, piano pieces and piano exercises your piano skills will improve very much and you will find that you will be able to play much better. Take things easy and cheer up; remember, music is for your soul so do try and enjoy it.

By the way, which song are you trying to learn? I may be able to give you some tips.
